The Band of Outsiders S/S 2009 collection has been featured before on 84/85, and this time around its the Sperry Topsider shoe collaboration that's has being featured and seen in full. With styles ranging from all-over velcro to a distressed black model featuring safety pin closures and a full rubber loafer, they're perfect for our rainy Northwest climate . The full collection is definitely one of my favorite looks for the upcoming season, featuring tailored cuts and a great color pallet. Band of Outsiders do it again with the full package, from the goods to the presentation of the product.

I enjoy following the Rogues Gallery post with a BofO post. I want to like RG, Alex Carleton and everyone involved seem to be cool and they definitely do have some good pieces, but I can't help but think of them as biting on BofO more then a little bit: eg their deckboots (which were pretty slick I admit). The RG look book seems to be better styled then well designed pieces: they have some graphic tees, some are cool but whoop-dee-doo, a pretty generic cableknit sweater, and some decent stuff hidden in the mix. The pictures look really good and it makes me want to visit Maine, which I guess is half the point of what they are trying to sell. But I digress,
The BofO Topsiders look pretty dope, but Im not sure if the Topsider has not already been done to death?
I agree Rouges Gallery isn't the best all around line but what I liked about this collection was the fact that it was stronger than the last from the pieces to the lookbook and presentation of the line. It is nice to see the progression of a line. As for the BofO biting I would say that a lot of people and lines are doing this particular style right now. I would also say that BofO are killing Sperry's but in a good way...
